Invitation to see plans to upgrade facilities at historic Wellesley Recreation Ground Great Yarmouth's Wellesley Recreation Ground, which contains what is thought to be the oldest wooden football grandstand in Britain, and possibly the world, is set to be brought bang up-to-date with the addition of a new state-of-the-art artificial pitch area - and local residents and visitors are invited to have their say. The all-day event opens from 9am, with the new plans on display from 9am-2pm and a presentation and Q&A session starting at 9.15am in the Clubhouse. Representatives from Great Yarmouth Borough Council, the football club and consultants Tim Wall Leisure will be on hand to answer questions.
